We're on Earth's Side

zooom has always found its home in nature and with our head office based in the beautiful Fuschl am See, Austria, it’s easy to see where our passion for the protecting the planet comes from. It has always been a goal to be a more eco-conscious company, which is why we have partnered with ClimatePartner to decrease our carbon footprint even further. We’ve taken lots of measure to cut down, for example, using CO2 neutral heating, installing solar panels, and switching to energy efficient devices. However, it’s not just about reducing, it’s also about offsetting any emissions that are produced.

So far, we have compensated for 606.234 kg of CO2 with the climate offset project from ClimatePartner, which means we financially support sustainable projects in the alpine region of CIPRA. The funding goes towards assisting with internationally recognized climate projects, making sustainable changes in agriculture, as well as projects that secure natural forests and alpine regions. Of course, that’s just the tip of the iceberg as our journey towards becoming a CO2 emission free company powers on.

It’s a little bit ironic, because in order to become neutral, you actively need to pick a side – you need to be Team Earth.

Sun, Glorious Sun

Utilizing renewable energy is one of the best ways to reduce our impact on the environment, which is why we’ve installed solar energy panels on our building, with even more on their way very soon! Along with enlarging our setup, we wanted to make sure that nothing goes to waste by also installing energy storage, so that the excess power that even when the sun isn’t up, it still powers our building.

Cooler heating

One of the biggest parts of our consumption is the building’s heating and cooling, especially when you work in a region that can range from 35 to -10 degrees Celsius. Keeping a building warm in the wintery months can result in the production of huge amounts of carbon emissions. Changing to a neutral heating system a few years ago has helped us decrease our CO2 levels tremendously, whilst keeping us nice and cozy during the cooler months.

Recharging our rides

Driving an electric car is not only good for the environment, but it also makes you feel like you’re the good guy on a mission in a futuristic sci-fi film. But as cool as that feels, switching out the Sedan for a Tesla was a power move. We have installed 2 charging stations outside our Fuschl office for the Tesla and guests, one of which is recharged with the excess solar energy.

We’ve taken a stance, to become neutral
